Today is the 11th November 2014 and it is the beginning of my personal writing challenge.
In the last few years I studied the whole subject of habits and how they control our lives. I have changed several of my habits in order to improve my life. But for some strange reason the one that has proved to be the most difficult is the habit of daily writing.
I have often made the commitment to myself to write something on a daily basis but to date it has not happened. But today is different as I have decided to challenge myself to write on my personal blog on a daily basis.
It is difficult to know each day what I will be writing about – it could be thoughts on the day in general, a description of an event, someone I know or met, a view that has caught my eye.
It could even be a quotation as I love to collect the words that are put together by other people as a way of motivation. But then again it could be something I am working on at this particular moment in time.
What I write isn’t that important it is much more a case that I have decided put aside some time. Time that would otherwise be wasted on irrelevant things like watching TV.
Because I know that I write something every day then over a period of time it will become a habit in my life and once that happens it will be difficult to get through a day without putting some words together.
The amount I write is also not important. It could be a few lines or it could be a few paragraphs but I have to say I am excited to see if by writing in this way on a consistent basis it will help me improve my writing and develop a style all of my own.
Plus I feel sure it will help me put together the ideas and the words I need to write posts and articles when I need them for my other websites. And also the Concise Reports I write which are the basis of my business model.
So I think I can safely say that I have now met my commitment for Day One. At the moment I have nothing more to say other than I am pleased I have made a start and let’s see what thoughts come out of the Universe for me to write about tomorrow.
